31" Roman Legion Scutum Shield

Scutum is the Latin for shield. Scutum is now associated with the shields used by the Roman Legionaries. The first shields were round and eventually evolved into the more rectangular design during later periods. These shields were strong and light weight constructed of strips of wood. The Scutum could be used offensively to strike opponents and defensivily as a group for protection from arrows.

Design Features:

Constructed from carbon steel with a lipped border as in early designs.

The boss center piece is golden with rivets.

Early Roman gold and red design decorate our Scutum.

Pegasus emblem on each side of the Scutum give it the Roman feel.

Steel handle allows the shield to be carried or worn.
