French Designed Tomahawk Peace Pipe

This fine replica item duplicates the combination peace pipe and tomahawk exchanged by English and French traders to Native Americans during the early colonial period. Though frequently used as a weapon when originally introduced to Native American Indians, the forged tomahawk also served as a tool, a ceremonial object, a decorative item, and a symbol of leadership. A blade and a pipe bowl balanced each other at either end of the tomahawk's handle. When the pipe tomahawk was smoked in council or given as gifts, pipe tomahawks helped to seal alliances or treaties between different groups.

Our Tomahawk Peace Pipe Axe features a pipe bowl and tomahawk axe head of stainless steel construction. The wooden handle features brass tacks studded along its length and imitation buckskin wrap. The Tomahawk Peace Pipe Axe measures 18-1/2" inches in length and is great item for collectors and Rendezvous re-enactors alike.

The bowl is functional.
