Santa Fe Bowie

Santa Fe Bowie Jim Bowie is given credit for the Bowie Knife Design. After his original design the Bowie became a mainstay of the frontier and developed many different designs and styles. The importance of the bowie and it's impact on the frontier was it's double purpose as a fighting knife and a camp knife. This Bowie pattern is known as the Santa Fe Bowie and is a classic early American style originally from New Mexico. This style was favored by the tracker and the frontiersmen with bleed over into the Army. Buffalo Soldiers loved this knife and strapped it onto their horses. Our Santa Fe Bowie is almost 13" long and made from heavy carbon steel. The knife is full tang which means that this knife is a one piece blade with the handles mounted on the blade. There are no pins which means that this knife cuts and chops wood. The handles are made from bone with an old world design and brass rivets. This replica looks like it was cut out of the 1880's. The sheath is made from heavy leather and copied from from original bowie designs.
