Obviously, some do not want to exercise those rights and thats ok. I think this girl says it well:

And what would happen to a pretty, young famous person like Miranda Lambert if we banned guns. She (and many like her) would need to hire multiple people to give her basic protection every day.
Knives and guns help give her some of the protection she needs to be doing what she loves to do.

The 2nd amendment is the right to bear arms, but I think you misunderstood.
